LAI

Lai has worked in higher educational publishing for more than twenty years, primarily as a content developer for McGraw-Hill Education, Pearson Education, and Macmillan Publishers. She has extensive experience in traditional text development, digital product development, and assessment editing, writing, and development. Lai has worked in multiple disciplines over the years, most recently in marketing and management. She is passionate about working with learning experts, subject matter experts, and students to create products that not only engage learners, but also enhance their discipline knowledge, hone their soft skills, and improve their overall performance.

Lai lives in a lake house in the middle of a forest in Pennsylvania with her wonderful husband and their two cats. She is an avid traveler—the farther she can go, the happier she is; her last major trip was to Nepal, where she had the opportunity to go tandem paragliding over the Himalayas. It was the most exhilarating experience of her life. In addition to remaining dedicated to her editorial pursuits, Lai is also working on her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling.

If I weren’t a writer/editor I would be: a therapist.

My morning routine is: coffee and quiet.

I most admire: my mother—she may drive me crazy, but she has survived more than most people I know. If I have any ounce of strength or resilience in me, I’ve inherited it from her.

My superpower is: recognizing faces (but forgetting names).
