Emily

EMILY

Emily lives in a sweet little town in New England that has a river running through it and no stoplights.

She began her copyediting career in 2000 at Little, Brown and Company, where she managed titles in the young adult and children’s division, including the popular Arthur series by Marc Brown and the Matt Christopher sports titles. With nearly two decades of experience, Emily has worked on high-profile titles including the Twilight series by Stephenie Meyer, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold, and on the non-fiction side, the Atlas Obscura books, which detail curious and wondrous travel destinations.

The mom of one pre-teen and one full-on teen, Emily can often be found on her way to a soccer game or a junior acting class. Her family recently took a cross-country trip totaling 9,000 miles over six fun work-free weeks! When she’s not copyediting or fact-checking a book, Emily practices hot yoga, pretends to cook well, and envies her cat’s nap-centered lifestyle.

If I weren’t a writer/editor I would be: a dance teacher.

My morning routine is: letting the cat in and out five times as she determines the outside temperature, filling up my huge water glass, wishing everyone a nice day.

I most admire: those who give more than they receive.

My superpower is: padangustasana.
